We attended the Malta Pride March on 11 June in Valetta and it was all we hoped for and more. The streets lit up with colourful flags, banners and people. Some went all out with amazing costumes and some just happy to be apart of all the fun and festivities. I have never attended an event like this but I will surely make an effort to go whenever I have the opportunity.
Walking down Republic Street before the march you would say it is just another ordinary day, at first we wondered if we missed it because everything was so calm and the people were just going about their usual business. As soon as we found the starting point of the march the mood turned, people were cheering, applauding and cameras and phones snapping away. This continued on all the way down the street with unsuspecting tourists and shop workers all happy to catch a glimpse of the excitement. I will let the pictures speak for themselves.
